What we're building next

Life Butler is still early. We’ve built the foundation — The Butler orchestrator, a few core Butlers, and the architecture that makes everything work together. But we’re just getting started.
This is a rough map of what we’re building next. It’s not a promise or a commitment — priorities shift, timelines change, and we learn as we go. But it gives you a sense of where we’re heading and what to expect in the coming months.
What We’ve Built So Far
Before we talk about what’s next, let’s acknowledge what we’ve already built:
The Butler (Core Orchestrator)
The foundation that makes everything work. Unified navigation, search, and coordination of all Butlers. This is the platform that all other Butlers build on.
Core Butlers
Money Butler (financial transactions), Socials Butler (contacts and messaging), Task Butler (intelligent task management), and Idea Butler (capture thoughts and build mini-programs). These are the foundational Butlers that others will build on.
The Architecture
Shared data layer, scoped access, unified interface, and the infrastructure that makes Butlers work together seamlessly. This is the plumbing that makes everything possible.
What’s Next: Completing Tier 1
We’re focusing on completing Tier 1 — the foundational Butlers that everything else builds on. These are the most connected Butlers, the ones that other Butlers depend on:
Expense Tracker Butler
The single most connected Butler — 14 of 17 other Butlers reference it. Track expenses with manual entry or AI-powered receipt scanning. Spending analytics, trends, budget alerts, and automatic categorization. This feeds into Money Butler and becomes the foundation for all financial Butlers.
Status: In development. Expected Q1 2025.
Idea Butler Enhancements
Expanding Idea Butler’s mini-program capabilities. Better recognition of recurring questions, more sophisticated decision tools, and integration with other Butlers for richer context. The goal is to make Idea Butler the place where thoughts become actionable plans.
Status: Ongoing improvements. Core functionality live, enhancements rolling out continuously.
Tier 2: Life Pillars
Once Tier 1 is solid, we’ll move to Tier 2 — the Butlers that handle the big life categories: goals, work, health, and housing.
Dream Reminder Butler
Life goals and aspirations tracker. Set goals, milestones, reminders. Progress tracking and motivation. Connects Idea Butler (ideas → goals) with Expense Butler (affordability checks).
Planned: Q2 2025
Work Butler
Track income, absences, tasks (Jira integration), and work communications (Slack, Google Chat, email). Connects Work income to Expense Butler, work contacts to Socials Butler.
Planned: Q2 2025
Health Butler
Medications, appointments, medical records, insurance. Auto-categorizes medical bills from Expense Butler. Tracks health data and connects with other Butlers for holistic health management.
Planned: Q3 2025
Rent Butler
Rental listings, rent payments, lease terms, renewal dates. Auto-feeds recurring expenses into Expense Butler. Payment reminders and rental history tracking.
Planned: Q2 2025
Platform Improvements
Alongside new Butlers, we’re continuously improving the platform itself:
Enhanced AI Integration
Better AI-powered features across Butlers. Smarter receipt scanning, more sophisticated task prioritization, better idea expansion, and cross-Butler insights. The goal is to make AI feel less like a feature and more like a natural part of how Butlers work.
Developer Tools
Better documentation, SDK improvements, and tools for building custom Butlers. We want to make it easier for developers to build Butlers that integrate seamlessly with Life Butler.
Mobile App Improvements
Better performance, smoother navigation, and more intuitive interfaces. The mobile experience is core to Life Butler, and we’re constantly refining it.
Privacy and Security
Ongoing improvements to privacy controls, transparency logs, and security. Privacy by design means continuous refinement, not a one-time implementation.
The Long-Term Vision
Beyond the next few months, here’s where we’re heading:
A Complete Life Management Platform
Eventually, Life Butler should handle every major aspect of your life: finances, health, work, relationships, goals, housing, travel, hobbies, and more. Not as separate apps, but as coordinated Butlers that work together.
A Thriving Butler Ecosystem
We want developers to build custom Butlers. We want users to discover Butlers that solve their specific problems. We want Life Butler to become a platform where specialized assistants thrive.
AI That Feels Natural
AI shouldn’t feel like a feature you use — it should feel like a natural part of how Butlers work. The Butler should understand context across all your data, surface insights proactively, and help you make decisions without feeling like you’re “using AI.”
What We’re Not Building
It’s also helpful to know what we’re not building:
We’re not building a social network. Socials Butler is for managing relationships and communication, not for building a new Facebook or Twitter.
We’re not building a marketplace. We’re building a platform for Butlers, not a store for buying things.
We’re not building another todo app. Task Butler is about intelligent task management across all Butlers, not just another checklist app.
We’re not building a financial advisor. Money Butler and financial Butlers help you track and understand your finances, but they don’t give investment advice or replace professional financial planning.
How Priorities Shift
This roadmap is a rough guide, not a promise. Priorities change based on:
- User feedback: What do users actually need? What problems are they facing? We build what matters most.
- Technical dependencies: Some Butlers depend on others. We build in the right order so each Butler can leverage what came before.
- Platform maturity: As the platform matures, new possibilities emerge. We adapt the roadmap as we learn what’s possible.
- Resource constraints: We’re a small team. We focus on what we can execute well, not what would be nice to have.
The roadmap is a guide, not a contract. We’ll build what makes Life Butler better, even if that means changing the plan.
The Bottom Line
Life Butler is still early. We’ve built the foundation, but there’s a long road ahead. This roadmap gives you a sense of where we’re heading, but it’s not set in stone.
What is set in stone is our philosophy: Butlers, not apps. Privacy by design. Data ownership. Coordination over competition. These principles guide every decision we make, regardless of what specific Butlers we build or when we build them.
If you’re interested in what we’re building, follow along. If you have ideas or feedback, share them. And if you want to build a Butler yourself, we’re building the tools to make that possible.
This is just the beginning. There’s a lot more to come.
